June 5 2020 Letter To Owners
Colonial Acres Resort
114 Standish Way West Yarmouth, MA 02673
June 5, 2020
Per the order of Massachusetts Governor Baker, Colonial Acres Resort will remain closed until he announces the opening of phase 2, June 6, 2020. Governor Baker ordered us closed effective March 21, 2020 until further notice. (Weeks 16 thru 23) to date.
We realize that many owners have questions and concerns regarding their timeshare week. Since we were forced to close, many weeks have been lost due to this National pandemic. Maintenance fees are non-refundable. The maintenance fees exist to cover property expenses, taxes, insurance, utilities, repairs, renovations, furnishing, supplies and management to maintain the property and ensure the financial integrity for the Resort. We have lost much needed revenue in our operating account due to this National disaster. Rental income is a major part of our budget as it covers the shortfall of unpaid intervals by non-paying owners. Your yearly fees are not intended to be for occupancy and must be paid to maintain ownership. We must follow the Bylaw’s for condominiums.
The good news is that Cape Cod will always be a vacation destination and will return to the “good old days” when this pandemic goes away. Colonial Acres has had many renovations that have made our property a “Gold Crown” Resort by RCI standards.
Hopefully, this is a once in a lifetime situation that we as Americans will look back on as part of History. We are committed to do our absolute best to make your home away from home as comfortable, friendly, and inviting as we can. Once we open and the danger subsides and restrictions lifted, the Board of Managers will be examining the situation to determine if any accommodation can be made for missed occupancies. Please continue to go to our website in lieu of calling the resort for all COVID:19 news and updates,
Stay safe and please email the Resort with your email address for future updates.
Bob Ostellino, President
